Esker (glaciofluvial ridge)

Status: Valid

Definition: Elongate sinuous ridge of glaciofluvial sediment deposited in ice-walled meltwater channels or sub-glacial tunnels. If the ridge-shaped glaciofluvial deposit is large enough to form a figure on the map, then the colour for glaciofluvial deposits is used to indicate the extent, and the esker symbol to indicate the ridge shape.
