Usage
The dataset describes the composition of the bottom sediment at a location (bottom sample) on the seabed. The dataset is mainly used for mapping / modeling of shell sand areas, which in turn is used as a basis in overall areal, resource and environmental planning, habitat mapping, vulnerability analyzes, impact assessments in connection with installations on the seabed, etc. Skjellsand is used for liming acidic watercourses, as agricultural lime, sanding of winter roads, in chicken feed, for water purification etc.
Explanation of assessment of FAIR principles:
There have made various tests to evaluate datasets in relation to the FAIR criteria. These are our interpretations, which then assess the criteria in relation to standards and protocols used for spatial data in Norway and Europe. For more information on which calculations we use for each indicator, look at the details of FAIR assessments for each specific dataset.
