Definition: The dataset provides an overview of dominant sedimentary environments in the mapped area. This is an interpretation of the processes acting on and near the seabed in terms of deposition, transportation and erosion of sediments. Marine sedimentary environment, regional is one of the products of the MAREANO-program and covers the mapped marine areas on the Norwegian continental shelf in the Norwegian Sea and the Barents Sea.

Usage

This data set can be used as basis for decision making in the overall land use and environmental planning, habitat mapping, vulnerability analyzes, impact analysis in connection with installations on the seabed etc.
