Coral reefs

Definition: The map shows documented and located coral reefs of the Lophelia pertusa stone coral. The occurrence of coral reefs is indicated as points on the map. These provide valuable information as a basis for assessing new fish farming consignments, discharges into the sea, landfill, development of petroleum-related installations, and regulation of fishing activities. The data are suitable for the preparation of thematic maps, overview maps, interactive maps, map solutions on the Internet and geographical analyzes. On a web map it is recommended that coral reefs are used in the scale from 1: 500 to 1: 11000000. Explanation of assessment of FAIR principles:

There have made various tests to evaluate datasets in relation to the FAIR criteria. These are our interpretations, which then assess the criteria in relation to standards and protocols used for spatial data in Norway and Europe. For more information on which calculations we use for each indicator, look at the details of FAIR assessments for each specific dataset.
