Definition: The dataset shows occurrences of horn corals (soft-bottom and hard-bottom coral forests) observed on the MAREANO surveys. The most common species of horn corals that form soft bottom coral forests are Isidella lofotensis and Radicipes gracilis. The most common species of horn corals that form hard bottom coral forests are Paragorgia arborea, Primnoa resedaeformis, Paramuricea placomus and Swiftia (in the Mareano area Swiftia has not been identified with certainty). The dataset is shown as point data of single occurrences of horn corals based on visual observations along the video transect where MAREANO has collected video material.
