Seabed sediments (genesis), overview

Definition: This data set contains the distribution of seabed sediments classified after genesis in mapped areas on the Norwegian shelf. The superficial deposit surface type describes the superficial deposits genesis. The data is based on the contents of the Quaternary map which are analogous (scale 1: 250,000 to 1: 500,000), or based on digital data from modern surveying.

Usage

This data set can be used as basis for decision making in the overall land use and environmental planning. The data set can also be used as support in connection with planning of research within e.g vulnerability assessment, habitat mapping etc.
