Definition: The dataset shows seabed sediments in the upper part of the seabed (1-2 m below the seabed), classified by genesis. This map corresponds to a Quaternary geological map. The dataset covers coastal areas where marine geological mapping has been carried out at a detailed scale. The level of detail varies between data from different mapping projects.

This data set can be used as basis for decision making in the overall land use and environmental planning. The data set can also be used as supporting data in connection with planning of research within e.g vulnerability assessment, habitat mapping etc.
