Organic carbon accumulation rates in seabed sediments of the North Sea and Skagerrak

Definition: The dataset provides an overview of organic carbon accumulation rates in the upper ten centimetres of seabed sediments in the North Sea and Skagerrak. Results are quantitative and were calculated from spatially predicted sedimentation rates and organic carbon concentrations. Uncertainties of the estimates are provided as well.

This data set may be used as a basis for decision making about high-level seabed use and environmental planning, habitat mapping, vulnerability analysis, impact analysis in connection with installations on the seabed etc.

Explanation of assessment of FAIR principles:

There have made various tests to evaluate datasets in relation to the FAIR criteria. These are our interpretations, which then assess the criteria in relation to standards and protocols used for spatial data in Norway and Europe. For more information on which calculations we use for each indicator, look at the details of FAIR assessments for each specific dataset.
