Distribution maps marine mammals

Definition: The dataset contains polygons representing generalized distribution of various species of marine mammals in Norwegian areas, based on the species manager's interpretation of the situation over the past 30 years. More information on the different species and data behind these areas can be found at https://www.hi.no/hi/temasider/arter. The map layers are divided into thematic layers for the different species. Examples of thematic layers for marine mammals are distribution and molting/hair shedding areas. A validity area has been defined for most species distribution maps.
