Historical maps

The Norwegian Mapping Authority's historical maps are both part of the agency's own archive since its beginning in 1773, and a collection based on other stakeholders' mapping, dating all the way back to the 17th century. Historical maps may be useful for historians, geologists and other professionals who work with demographics, administrative boundaries and place names. You can download individual maps from the Norwegian Mapping Authority's 'Historical map' solution, or viewing initial economic maps as WMS.
