Definition: Seabed sediments (grain size) show the grain size composition in the upper part (upper 0-50 cm) of the seabed. The dataset series comprise three datasets: Seabed sediments (grain size), overview, Seabed sediments (grain size), regional and Seabed sediments (grain size), detailed. The three individual datasets are digitized in different scales and have different data coverage.

Usage

The data of this dataset series can be used as basis for decision making in the overall land use and environmental planning, habitat mapping, vulnerability analyzes, impact analysis in connection with installations on the seabed etc. Map showing sediments classified by grain size gives a good overview of the depositional environment and seabed conditions.
