Hazardous substances

The dataset shows facilities with hazardous substances, i.e. flammable and toxic gases, solids and liquids. The data is registered by the owners of the facilites. Therefore, the Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection cannot control the quality of the positioning. The Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection only makes this data available to users within Norway working with spatial planning, building application processing and emergency response. These are given access only to data for their own districts. The data is only available by contacting Karen Lie at the Norwegian Directorate for Civil Protection directly. User agencies must commit to only making data accessible to users who genuinely need the information. The data cannot be placed in open map applications online.

Usage

Anleggene skal være kjent for kommunene, for at det skal tas nødvendige hensyn i arealplanlegging og byggesaksbehandling. Ved brann utgjør et farlig stoff-anlegg en fare, og det er viktig at brannvesenet kjenner til anleggets beliggenhet. Brannalarmsentralen har data om anleggene i sine kartsystemer. For øvrig må ROS-analyser og beredskapsplaner registrere anleggene som en risiko, der en ulykke kan ha store konsekvenser.
